I’m excited to try out this experiment with new types of thematic user-generated content, combining social media, the wikis and the blog.

As millions prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we'd like to know how love is covered on Wikipedia and its sister projects. Share your favorite wiki articles, pictures, or media about love -- from platonic to fraternal or romantic. We'll post some of your top picks here on Friday Feb. 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Feel free to tweak as you see fit. I defer to you all to determine the best way to get the word out in social networks. Be sure to add final links to the Google doc linked above.

Once we’ve heard from the team, I propose to send an email later today to a few friendly mailing lists like @wmfall, @techambassadors, @editorengagement, @multimedia, as well as to my own community champion contacts. But I will wait to do that until you’ve all commented on this proposal.

I hope we’ll learn a thing or two about new ways to engage our community in user-generated content lists, which can inform our next campaigns. :)
