Sorry about the lack of reply here, Jeremy. I think it's quite a
powerful quote ("people will die never experiencing ..."), but the
connection to Wikimedia might be somewhat unclear to many, and is in
fact a bit complex (as I learned myself when preparing a blog post for
Public Domain Day 2013, which likewise linked to that blog of the
Center for the Study of Public Domain, see also
https://blog.wikimedia.org/tag/public-domain/). The linked post makes
the important point that basically no works entered the public domain
on January 1, 2014 in the US, but in fact quite a few works became
available for use on Wikimedia projects like Wikisource and Commons,
because of Commons' "country of origin" policy. I hope we will have a
good blog post for Public Domain Day 2015 again.
