It's been announced that the Nobel Prize in Literature goes to Svetlana
Alexievich, "the first journalist and the first writer from Belarus to win
the award." Thoughts on promoting?

She's known for her coverage of first-hand accounts of the war in
Afghanistan and an oral history of the Chernobyl disaster.

Should we open up our Facebook wall to posts from fans on Wednesdays?
Heather W asked. We can set it so that we get notifications when people
post before they appear, so we can gate-keep. We could have a theme for the
day: Post an article you edited or especially like, etc.
Posters would probably get a LOT of attention on Facebook, so we might need
to warn them about that.
We don't need to decide now.

74,000 of our Facebook fans also like Dr. Who on Facebook. Thinking about
doing a targeted post of:
Dr. Who fans, who, in your opinion, is the definitive Doctor?
With a link to the Wikipedia article page for Dr. Who.
Objective is to see how targeting of posts works on traffic and engagement.
Thoughts?

Hey everyone,
Congrats!
It is October 7th, which means today is the Apocalypse... according to the
eBible Fellowship. Did you know that so far in the last five years, we have
survived 11 doomsdays?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dates_predicted_for_apocalyptic_events
It is currently a trending item on both Fb and Twitter. Jeff, how do you
feel about this?
I love this last sentence from the article:
"No predicted apocalyptic events have occurred so far."
"Throughout history, many have attempted to predict the end of the world,
including today. And Wikipedia has documented them all."
"Did you know that Grigori Rasputin prophesied a storm where fire would
destroy most life on land and Jesus Christ would come back to Earth to
comfort those in distress for the date August 23, 2013?"

Hi,
Could @Wikipedia share this Facebook event, targeted for Swedish speakers
in Sweden (perhaps even in Stockholm if that is possible)?
https://www.facebook.com/events/451652678355469/
"Hjälp flyktingar att hitta bra information genom att förbättra Wikipedia
på denna skrivstuga på torsdag."
(English: Help refugees find good information by improving Wikipedia on
this editathon this Thursday.)
If you have a better copy I'll be happy to translate it to Swedish.
It is an editathon with the aim to improve articles that will be important
for refugees arriving in Sweden.
