Hello all! Hello amir!
I have created and maintained some other additional SVN repositiories on TS in the past [1].
[1] https://fisheye.toolserver.org/browse/drtrigon/externals
Since it is not possible to include SVN repos into GIT as submodule (or else?) I fear I have to convert them (by svn2git?) to GIT repos in order to re-integrate them again into pywikibot/compat. Would it be possible to create those repos on gerrit in pywikibot too? E.g.:
pywikibot/haartraining pywikibot/opencv pywikibot/pycolorname pywikibot/archive(s) (for .tar.gz files - other suggestions welcome)
in order to copy them
or pywikibot/other or pywikibot/thirdparty
as general repos to create several such additional codes (also for future). Though later is not optimal since it can be included just as 1 submodule only.
Thanks a lot for your thought and help Greetins DrTrigon

Yes. (although I'm not sure what the archive(s) directory would be for? storing binary files in git is generally not a good idea)
or pywikibot/other or pywikibot/thirdparty
I think we can have multiple repository 'layers', so pywikibot/thirdparty/haartraining etc might be a nice option?

I can't express how much I'm sorry for not seeing your e-mail. I was very busy (for wikimania) and I didn't check e-mails that hasn't send directly to me (like mailing list e-mails)

Should not be a big issue anymore, since I implemented everything. Of course there are some bugs to fix and some messages and things we have to agree on - but that should not be a big deal anymore. DON'T PANIC.
But as initially mentioned I need some repos in order to finish this work. I would prefer to have 1 repo called 'pywikibot/externals' and then create directories in it for 'spelling' and all the other stuff like 'haartraining', 'opencv' and 'pycolorname' BUT that is not possible as I understand git, since every submodule has to be an own repo. Therefore we have to create at least 3 further repos, that I would prefer to call:
pywikibot/haartraining pywikibot/opencv pywikibot/pycolorname
like or similar to:
pywikibot/i18n pywikibot/spelling
Thanks and Greetings DrTrigon

I looked at this once more and now I would like to finnaly request following repos:
pywikibot/pycolorname
SVN: https://svn.toolserver.org/svnroot/drtrigon/externals
pywikibot/opencv
SVN: https://svn.toolserver.org/svnroot/drtrigon/externals/opencv (this can contain the haartraining .tar.gz files also - may be even uncompressed as plain xml files...)
Additionally I would like to discuss about a repo for cgi and other web-related scripts. I have seen in the past some of them (e.g. in compat) and written myself some for my bots. What about a repo for them? We could call it e.g. pywikibot/cgi-scripts or .../webspace or something like this...
Thanks and Greetings DrTrigon

Yes you are absolutely right! The files I want to transfer can be seen in [1]. The binary files (archives) are compressed version on XML (text) files. The reason for the compression was that they are 20MB in size before and just 2MB after and their content will never get changed, in fact it MUST NOT get changed - at least by humans.

I woul prefer to stop using the 'thirdparty' term for my codes, since I included everything into pywikibot now. We can keep it for other uses, but since "my" codes are all here now they aren't third-party anymore... ;) I would prefer to use 'other' or even nothing like for 'spelling' and 'i18n'.
