I showed the movie page to a non-Wikimedian and they said that they could have easily missed the arrow to play the video. Can we make the arrows in https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-extensions-TimedMediaHandler/blob/mas... have higher contrast to be more obvious against dark backgrounds and/or grayscale videos?
Thanks, Pine

We actually have this nice system called Phabricator https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/ where people can suggest changes to the software without emailing all other people in the process :)
And we have this nice system called 'mailing lists' through which 'all other people' very much /expect/ to be emailed because it's got "mailing" in the title of the software.
Your reply came off as fairly snarky. Pine was asking a simple question; you can point him to phabricator without making him feel bad for asking. The alternative is getting fewer people asking questions and reporting bugs or possible areas for improvement, which is a good way of shooting ourselves in the foot when it comes to user-centred development and feedback cycles.

I've now plonked the bug straight into Phabricator. It can be found at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T117344

This particular issue:
1. Is high impact, as of the moment our 5M announcements come out 2. Is urgent, with those announcements likely to happen within the next 36 hours 3. Might or might not have been fixable without resorting to Phabricator, in which case I might be able to fix it myself
All of which contributed to my decision to email instead of use Phabricator. (:
