Hi all,
I just wanted to point out a presentation I created for training new editors at an event the Smithsonian hosted last Friday, "Wikipedia Loves Libraries: Backstage at the Smithsonian Librarieshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/DC/WLL/2012."
PDF on Commons: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Introduction-to-Editing-Wikipedia-for...
I find that a lot of the existing tutorials are very text heavy, but this one includes lots of screenshots and visuals. Please feel free to link to it, improve it, and add it to the various lists of GLAM resources.
Best, Sara

Sara, this is very useful and I'm going to put it almost immediate use!

Thank you for this and all the other resources! I just started a preliminary conversation with my co-workers about GLAM-wiki partnerships and it's much easier to make the case when you have examples. :)

This is fantastic!
+ Maarten from Kennisland/CC Netherlands/GLAM and Wikimedia in Europe who is developing intro courses for GLAMs as part of the School of Openhttp://schoolofopen.org/on (roughly) the following:
Courses for GLAM curators
1. How do i add rights info to my collection? Rights info and tagging for curators 2. How to make my collection available online 3. Measuring the effect of open for cultural institutions [flipcharthttp://www.flickr.com/photos/p2puniversity/8095054527/in/photostream ]
I think adapting this presentation and/or pointing to it as part of one of these courses/challenges would be great.

Agreed! This is AWESOME, Sara, thanks so much!
I don't know if this would be helpful to anyone, but I wrote up a worksheet for Wikipedia a few weeks ago, which covers editing Wikipedia, uploading images to the Commons, and using them in a Wikipedia article. Here it is, licensed CC-BY-3.0, if anybody would like to use/adapt/fix/improve it: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ew4MbfK3DiGxKNxpdQM7BvH3CwJNHe_v6qqoMx0m...

I'm a big fan of the WikiAfrica "Share Your Knowledge: How?" video to start a discussion about Creative Commons licenses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpYmtRmPdUc

Hi all,
Looks great! I will be working with Lori Phillips on these documents as well. As I am not on this list I don't know if she already picked this up. But this will be definitely something that we are going to take into account when working on the school of open courses.
Cheers,
Maarten
