Most compelling Museum + Wiki + CC collaborations in US?

Hi! I'm building a slide deck about CC and museums and cultural institutions, eg. GLAM. I want to populate it with the most compelling museum uses of CC and participatory/open methods for a US museum audience. Wondering if folks know of any new developments that are not already listed at https://wiki.creativecommons.org/GLAM ? Or of those that you do know of, what would you recommend highlighting more? I'm categorizing by 4 kinds of uses: 1. Sharing digital collections 2. Sharing collection records 3. Enabling artist choice 4. Engaging museum patrons/collaborations with community Appreciate any suggestions! Hello everyone, Wikimedia Nederland is looking for people to join the Program Committee for the GLAM WIKI 2015 conference. GLAM WIKI 2015 is a conference focussed on projects of/with Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAMs) that are related to Wikimedia projects and/or have another open knowledge component. The goal of the conference is: 1. To let professionals and volunteers from the cultural sector share lessons learned and best-practices on this topic. 2. To inspire and motivate participants to join existing or start up their own projects that support the mission of the Wikimedia movement. 3. To increase awareness of the importance of accessible cultural heritage and to put currently available content in the spotlight. Wolfsonian (Miami Beach) interested in partnering with GLAM Wikipedia

As some of you may know, Jeff Guin, who started the GLAM-wiki collaboration at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia, PA, USA has recently moved to a very cool job at the Wolfsonian in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. Initiatives he started here include CHF's Wikipedian in Residence position and the GLAM Cafe initiative, an ongoing monthly get-together for digital humanities and Wikipedia folks. Jeff is working to get something similar going at the Wolfsonian and would like to make contact with Wikipedians in the Miami area. I promised I would notify people on GLAM-related mailing lists. Hello All, I just wanted to share that I recently confirmed that the National World War One Museum at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City will be participating in the WWI and Dissent editathons coordinated by Wikimedia UK! See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/WW1_and_Dissent for more details. I would like to encourage other GLAMs to participate: it seems like a great opportunity for international collaboration! This will be the first Wikimedia activity in relationship to the National WWI Museum. Very excited to start communications with them! Alex Stinson User:Sadads
