Dear all,
Our next open online meeting has been scheduled for *this coming Monday,
Jan 28, between 17:00-18:30 UTC*.
We'll be using Meet so there shouldn't be any issue with the number of
participants. Here's a link to the call -
https://meet.google.com/pqs-ewoi-tmb
The meeting will include:
* A short introduction and update by participants.
* A short update regarding what we've achieved during 2018.
* A short update on our annual plan & bylaws.
* An invitation to our new working groups (explanation and call of action).
Hope to see many of you there! :)

Dear EDUWiki enthusiasts,
We've just wrapped 2018 and heading toward 2019, about which I'll be
sending a separate email in the coming week, with information about what
we've been up to till now and most importantly, what we're planning next.
In the meantime, however, *we'd like to schedule our next open online
meeting. *
To that end, we've *created a doodle*
<https://doodle.com/poll/id2bmreyqsf7gvh2>, with 3 different options on the
last week of January.
As we are an international group, we've tried to pick different time-slots
during the day.
*Please fill it out by the end of this Friday, 25/01/19, at midnight
*(whichever
time zone you are in). It's important for us to see how many people are
able to participate in the different time slots, as it'll also affect our
future scheduling as well. The final date will be announced Saturday, Jan
26.
The meeting will include:
* A short update (and intro) by participants.
* A short update regarding what we've achieved during 2018.
* A short update on our annual plan & bylaws
* An invitation to the working groups (explanation and call of action)
Yours,
Shani Evenstein
Chairperson, The Wikipedia & Education User Group.

Dear all,
Earlier this month, we ran a logo challenge for the Wikipedia & Education
User Group. We've got some really nice nominations. Now its time for the
community to vote and help us adopt a logo for the UG.
Voting can be done at:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_%26_Education_User_Group/Logo_cha…,
and will be open until
30 December 2018.
Your vote will help us decide our representation for years to come. Looking
for your participation.
Have a happy Christmas, and lindly let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks

Dear members,
Since being elected in October, the Wikipedia & Education User Group
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_%26_Education_User_Group>Board
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_%26_Education_User_Group/People> has
been quietly working, setting the infrastructure for engaging and working
more closely with our members and the broader community, i.e. anyone else
interested in advancing global efforts around Wikimedia projects and
Education.
To this end, we will be starting to host monthly meetings (Yay!), where our
members and other interested parties could share experiences, challenges
and opportunities, while strengthening our global network.
Our first meeting will be held *next Monday, Dec. 17, between 17:00 - 18:30
UTC*. While for various reasons, we've had to set up a specific time for
this meeting, our next meetings will be scheduled using doodle to maximize
the number of participants.
*The agenda for the meeting includes:*
* Introduction of members attending
* Overview of what the board has been doing so far
* Introducing working groups
* Intro to the Annual Plan
We will be using "Meet" which allows for up to 50 participants to join, so
hopefully will not have issues of people unable to join, and we will do our
best to record the meeting, so if you can't join us, you'll still be able
to catch up.
*Here is a link to the meeting - meet.google.com/xzw-mqpa-pmn
<https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmeet.google.com%2Fxzw-mqpa-pmn…>*
Please spread the word wide and join us!
We have lots to discuss and we're excited to include all of you!
Best,
Shani and the Wikipedia & Education UG Board.

Dear all,
As a step forward to increase community participation in the user group
activities, the Wikipedia & Education User Group is organising logo
challenge to invite Wikimedians (even non-Wikimedians) to design and
nominate a new logo for the newly formed user group. The nomination period
starts from tomorrow i.e. 23 November 2019, and ends on 16 December 2018.
It will be followed by a voting round.
Rules for the challenge and other details can be seen at:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_%26_Education_User_Group/Logo_cha…
Please reach out to me if you have any questions. We are looking forward to
see your creations.
Thanks,
