Hello;
My name is Mervat Salman, a UCoC Facilitator, Trust and Safety team.
As you know, the WMF Board of Trustees ratified the Universal Code of
Conduct early in February. That's the beginning; the policy itself cannot
be used if the enforcement pathways are not defined. The implementation and
enforcement of the UCoC requires the continuous cooperation to define clear
definitions of enforcement pathways and processes. This needs to be done in
a way that does not contradict with the internal bylaws and codes of
conduct currently in place, but rather to support them and complement their
deficiencies, if any.
In this phase of the process, we would like to invite you to share your
ideas, thoughts and concerns about the UCoC implementation, reporting and
enforcement pathways using this survey:

Dear friends of free knowledge and education,
On Tuesday, March 30th 2021, we will have our next Open Meeting!
Please feel welcome to join us at 4:00pm UTC.
See for your own timezone: https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1617120044
This is the link to the meeting room:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87586733540?pwd=SVp0YmZrTEtlWWxxT3Y2UjZxNnFkZz09
We will discuss the shutdown of the WMF's Outreach Wiki and other topics.
Our special guest will be Mossab Banat who will talk about content in
Arab language. He is a passionate Wikipedian, physician and Wikipedia
Education Program team leader at Hashemite University in Jordan. He is
an editor and admin at Arabic Wikipedia. He also a board member at
Wikimedia medicine and associate editor at wikijournal of Medicine. He
founded a wiki club under the name of Digital Arabic Content Club at
the same university. Currently mossab works as Teaching and Research
Assistant at the Hashemite and as representative of graduate students
at the University council.
I myself will present a plan for a discussion on ethical questions.
When we use wikis for educational goals, we have not only to follow
the rules of the wiki (or an institution we work with). We want to
make sure that no harm is done - to the wiki or to the learners or
others involved. We want to give educators and others guidelines or
recommendations on how to deal with ethical questions and how to avoid
problems.
So, we hope for a large crowd at our meeting which will last for one
hour and a half.
Kind regards,
Ziko van Dijk
secretary,

Hi,
We are reaching out to share that we have proposed a project - Designing a
template for a sustainable education program. In the proposed program, we
will study the previously organized education programs, their outcomes,
challenges, and issues. We will also design and practice a methodology on a
structured and governed education program to observe the difference in
engagement and outcome. As a final outcome, we expect to create and share a
template for a sustainable education program in India.
Please find more details here-

If you like the project, please show your support by endorsing us.

The Wikipedia & Education User Group invites you to our next Open Meeting,
Tuesday, December 1, at 17:00 UTC (check your time zone here:
https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1606842026). The focus of the meeting will
be gathering the Wikipedia & Education community's input on the Movement
Strategy.
You may have already participated in a conversation with another community
about the strategy; please join our meeting anyway to discuss how the
strategy particularly connects to education work in our movement.
If you're not already familiar with the Movement Strategy, please review
the recommendations before the meeting:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2018-20/Recomme…
Please come prepared to answer the following questions:
1. Think about the recommendations and the work you’re already doing. What
are you working on that is aligned with Movement Strategy?
2. Think about your needs and the work that you would like to be doing.
Which recommendations are important for your community’s future?
3. From the discussed recommendations, which actions and changes will make
a difference and respond to your needs?
4. To work on implementing these initiatives, what human capacity and/or
financial resources do you need?
5. In your opinion, which recommendation(s) require global coordination?
The meeting will take place via Zoom, here:

Hope to see you there!
The Wikipedia & Education User Group
Dear members of the Wikipedia & Education User group,
It's been two years since the Wikipedia & Education User group was
founded and the time has flied by. We did a lot of things and there were
a lot of things that we wanted to do, but didn't.
Now it's time to refresh our board. Namely, according to our By-laws
[1], board members have a term of two years, meaning our terms end on
October 2. Also, according to our By-laws, we are supposed to hold a
General Assembly meetings annually, so this is the perfect time for that.
Therefore, I hereby invite all user group members [2] to the General
Assembly online meeting, that will take place on October 1, 2020
starting at 4 PM UTC. The link for the meeting will be provided at a
later time. At the meeting, we will present a two year activity report
and hold elections for board members.
If you want to put yourself up for election as a board member, please
apply by sending me an email off-list with your full name and a brief
statement on why you think you should be a board member.
I hope to see as many members as possible on October 1.
Until then, take care,
Filip Maljković

Have any burning questions about how to use PetScan or the Program & Events
Dashboard for your Education Program? You're not alone: The Wikipedia &
Education User Group's recent tech needs survey revealed these were the two
most popular tools used by education program leaders, and many have
questions about how to use them more effectively!
Thus, the board of the Wikipedia & Education User Group invites you to
attend our user group's next Open Meeting, focused this month on tech
tools. We're honored to host as featured speakers *Magnus Manske*, creator
of PetScan, and *Sage Ross*, creator of the Program & Events Dashboard.
Magnus and Sage will both do brief tutorials about how to use their tools,
with plenty of time for Q&A from program leaders about each tool.
As usual, the user group board will also provide an update on our
activities and how you can be involved in the group.
