That’s weird. I had a task open for it about 1 year ago, and it was closed as resolved, leaving me with the impression that the extension was installed already.

Probably! I note that the current PHP 5.6 webservice doesn't seem to have any profiling extension installed, so this isn't a "missing" thing for 7.2.
