I have a stupid cold that stopped me from getting much sleep last night. I'm going to take the day off to sleep.

Hi David.
Thanks for letting us know you are not well and will not show up for work. I hope you will feel better again soon, so that those in the SF office can enjoy your work and dinosaur drawings again.
I would however request something of you and everyone who reads this for the future: Please be more selective in your choice of recipients for sick, out of office, work from home and similar status emails.
Through engineering@, you reach some 70 people in tech, many of whom may not interact with you on a daily basis, and some even only visit the San Francisco office a few weeks a year, if ever. Thus you may be broadcasting your message too widely. Over the past month there have at least been 15 emails of this type that may not nave been necessary.
I've replied to a few in a sometimes hopefully funny, but possibly also perceived as passive aggressive way. Apparently that didn't land, and may have confused some. The latter effects were most definitely not my intention, and thus I now try to rectify this by hopefully being explicit, reasonable and having a clear request.
Thanks for your understanding.
Cheers!
