This is extremely useful as a write up. Thank you for taking the time to write this up Diederik as I know its time intensive.
As someone who couldn't make this meeting getting a summary like this gives me exactly what I need to know about what's moving. Let's keep them coming.
I think the analytics team has come a long way with predictability like this.
Looking forward to you guys doing more great work like this. On Mar 28, 2013 9:29 AM, "Diederik van Liere" dvanliere@wikimedia.org wrote:

Where can I find this information? what is the definition of an "active
user"? thanks!
Thanks for the feedback, Tomasz and Jessie. I'm glad this report is working for you. Please feel free to offer us more suggestions on how we can improve the information and its presentation.
Where can I find this information? what is the definition of an "active
user"? thanks! Good question, Jessie. I looked at the page Mariya put together-- https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Data--but I couldn't find it there.
Is there anywhere on our wikis where we keep definitions of these metrics? I know Erik and others have been helpful in providing answers on the list, but it would be good to have a place for us to have a single place to look or direct people to.
FYI, we acknowledge this is a general problem, and we are starting work on ways to make the discoverability and usability of such information easier. Your suggestions are welcome.

You can find it here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Analytics/Metric_definitions and "active user" should say "active editor". D
