I saw this discussion:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Emw#Stats
thanks to Andrea Zanni (cc'd), who would like to add Wikisources to this tool:
http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Coupling_%28computer_programming%29...
In order for that to happen, Emw said, we'd need to add an "identifier for that project in the raw page-view data".
How feasible is that?
Thanks.
Hi all!
The wikistats or as it is better known 'stats.grok.se' code as referenced in the mentioned URL visualizes traffic data collected by webstatscollector. Webstatscollector does collect traffic for the wiksource projects and the identifier is '.s' in the pageview datafiles as they are available on http://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/pagecounts-raw/
So the data is available, it could be that the stats.grok.se code does not store the wikisource pageview data in the MySQL db that it uses.
Hope this helps.
Best, Diederik

The tool at http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/ now supports Italian Wikisource, along with all other projects (except Wikivoyage) in all languages.
Some examples:
- Wikisource: http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Pagina_principale&project1=it.s... - Wikiquote: http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Main_page&project1=en.q&fro... - Wikiversity: http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Wikiversity:Main_Page&project1=... - Wiktionary: http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Main_page&project1=en.wikt&... - Wikibooks: http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Main_page&project1=en.b&fro... - Wikivoyage: http://toolserver.org/~emw/wikistats/?p1=Main_page&project1=en.voy&f...
Per https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:SiteMatrix I expected to find Wikivoyage page view data under the 'en.voy' code in the raw dumps, but I didn't see it. Am I using the wrong code or missing something else? With Wikivoyage so new, it would be interesting to see its traffic patterns around this time.
Can Wikivoyage page view data be added to the raw dumps?
Thanks, Eric https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Emw

Thanks EMW, this is really cool. And thanks everyone for support (I love it so much when wikimagic happens like this)

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42055 I've cc'ed you now.
By the way, is something moving as regards http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/analytics/2012-December/000276.html ? It's quite crucial, I was happy to see it described as feasible but I don't understand if it's going to happen or not.

Hi all,
maybe a bit off-topic: I noticed a difference between the data stats.grok.se (and by this also Eric's tool) return and my own aggregation of the raw wikistats.
Take http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change as an example and a random date: 2012-12-12: stats.grok.se reports 4808 while the aggregation of the raw data actually results in 4899 views. If i look at this for other dates it seems the error is within ±200 with the exception of some rare cases.
I already triple checked my own aggregation, here's the raw hourly data:
12.12.12 00:00 en Climate_change 144 6848875 12.12.12 01:00 en Climate_change 155 6710816 12.12.12 02:00 en Climate_change 198 9746437 12.12.12 03:00 en Climate_change 179 8502162 12.12.12 04:00 en Climate_change 159 7177223 12.12.12 05:00 en Climate_change 165 7513938 12.12.12 06:00 en Climate_change 133 5915557 12.12.12 07:00 en Climate_change 159 7582933 12.12.12 08:00 en Climate_change 152 6153535 12.12.12 09:00 en Climate_change 204 8315989 12.12.12 10:00 en Climate_change 190 8190970 12.12.12 11:00 en Climate_change 261 14184969 12.12.12 12:00 en Climate_change 285 13912403 12.12.12 13:00 en Climate_change 211 8971712 12.12.12 14:00 en Climate_change 264 12204700 12.12.12 15:00 en Climate_change 334 15725110 12.12.12 16:00 en Climate_change 254 12245077 12.12.12 17:00 en Climate_change 190 8389508 12.12.12 18:00 en Climate_change 235 10241766 12.12.12 19:00 en Climate_change 263 12993105 12.12.12 20:00 en Climate_change 239 9941055 12.12.12 21:00 en Climate_change 201 8801062 12.12.12 22:00 en Climate_change 164 6412037 12.12.12 23:00 en Climate_change 160 8218737 sum: 4899
I also checked possible other timezone offsets, but can't find a sum of 24 hourly files around that date which accumulates to 4808 views.
Any idea what's going on?
Cheers, Jörn
