Hi, we would like to handle bugs and feature requests for our tech community metrics in Bugzilla. The logical place (suggested by Andre) would be a component under
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Analytics
Any objection?
Component:
Korma (could also be "Tech metrics" or "Tech community")
Description:
Tech community metrics tools and data used at http://korma.wmflabs.org
I'm not totally sure this is the right place as the analytics team per se does not have any real engagement with these metrics and they may make statistics harder to generate for stuff we do own. Is there another place they could go?

Or is there a way to calculate your team statistics dismissing this component?
As discussed, these tech metrics will end up one day within the scope of the Analytics team, and in any case they are analytics. Other Bugzilla products have multiple components "belonging" to multiple teams.
But these are only thoughts. I have no strong opinion.

Diederik, can we make Bingle ignore certain components? If so, I have no problem with these living in Bugzilla under Analytics. The components in Bugzilla are organization for the submitter and bug wrangler more than the developer. The engineers for the most part know what to look at.

Yes, you can configure Bingle and tell it which components to import from Bugzilla so it would not affect our auto-import into Mingle. I am cool with adding the component under the analytics product. I would suggest to call the component "Community metrics".
as always, just my 2 cents. D

Maybe "Development community metrics", if that's not too large? To make a difference with the other communities around the WMF...

Same,

I don't think it's too large but maybe Engineering Community Metrics?

That's my ten cents, my two cents is free. (jk, wanted to quote eminem)

The subject of this thread gave me an idea...
"Tech community metrics" ;)
"Development" is too narrow, "Engineering" is too engineering. We have been using "tech community" for a while.
In any case it is good that we won't disturb your performance statistics. I will request to Andre the creation of the new component under Analytics. Thank you!
