Regional Ambassador blogs about students' experiences
Max Klein, the Regional Ambassador for the New England region of the United States, posted
some thoughts on his personal blog about how the Wikipedia Education Program can help
overcome systemic gender bias in Wikipedia. Max interviewed two female students from his
region who participated in the Professor Zachary McDowell's course Writing as

Monthly Metrics meeting covers state of Education Program
The monthly Wikipedia Education Program Metrics and Activities Meeting's December
meeting happened this morning. Representatives from the programs in the U.S., Canada,
India, Egypt, and Germany all spoke about their plans for the forthcoming term. The
meeting, which is led by a rotating community member, is open to anyone. Check out the
Outreach wiki page to see recaps from past meetings and sign the interest list to attend
the January meeting.

U.S. student featured in WMF blog post
University of Pittsburgh student Karl Wahlen was featured in the Wikimedia
Foundation's blog earlier this week. Karl participated in the Wikipedia Education
Program in the U.S. this term as a student in Piotr Konieczny's Sociology of Marriage
course. Read about how Karl went from not even knowing you could edit Wikipedia to being a
top contributor among students in the U.S. program this term.

Canadian school newspaper article picked up on newswire
An article from the University of Alberta's student newspaper, the Gateway, about the
Wikipedia Education Program in Canada was picked up by the Canadian University Press
