Hi,
This Wednesday – as every week – there will be the Technical Advice IRC
meeting on #wikimedia-tech!
IMPORTANT:
Due to the end of the daylight saving time we have to change the time of
the meeting to *4 pm UTC*!
The Technical Advice IRC Meeting is a weekly support event for volunteer
developers. Every Wednesday, two full-time developers are available to help
you with all your questions about Mediawiki, gadgets, tools and more! This
can be anything from "how to get started" over "who would be the best
contact for X" to specific questions on your project.
If you know already what you would like to discuss or ask, please add your
topic to the next meeting:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Technical_Advice_IRC_Meeting
Hope to see you there!

Hello guys,
Hope you all are doing great. I have noticed with a lot of pleasure the
presence of new AWMD member from different countries and communities on IRC
during the last 2 weeks. I encourage those working to keep it up and for
those applying for the Outreachy and GCI Program, I wish you good luck :).
During the next IRC meeting we shall have a discusion around those two
programs and of course how to be a mediawiki harcker as an AWMD member. Do
well not to miss the next meeting.
When: *12th October, 2018 (next week friday)*
Time: *4pm - 5:30pm UTC*
Place: *#wikimedia-dev-africa on freenode*
The agenda for the meeting will be listed here:
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T201679
You are encouraged to put your suggestions for the next agenda in a comment
on the ticket. Looking forward to see you on IRC.
Best regards,

Hello everyone!
A new feature has been added to the AWMD stats tool which is the use of
CanvasJS charts to display statistics summary. The patch can be seen here:
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/labs/tools/awmd-stats/+/464468 (by Derick)
and thanks to Samuel Guebo and Rosalie Perside for reviewing the work.
Special thanks to Samuel for merging and updating tool on production for
consumption by others :).
Please feel free to give feedback about these summaries and if there is any
issue, file a phabricator task here:
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/board/2858/ on our work board.
We also call on all volunteer devs from Africa to bring up ideas on how
this tool can be improved and patches are welcomed. Skills set related to
the project is: *Python, Flask, JSON, HTML & CSS, BASH scripting and
JavaScript.*
Thank you all and enjoy!
