Well, no, I'm not scared.
I fully understand how many people could not like this kind of
counting/gamification,
but I would say that we should test everything that can engage users and
readers.
Wikisources are historically understaffed :-),
and if this kind of games could help some users to do the hard and often
boring job of fixing typos/proofreading/validating, I don't see why it'd be
regarded as bad.

So, a simple "proofread counter" could be helpful in this regard.
