Dear Wikisourcians,
I hope this email finds you well. I'm reaching out to you as members of the
Wikisource Community user group to discuss an exciting opportunity. As you
may remember, the group was preparing for a conference dedicated to
Wikisource in 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the
conference was postponed indefinitely.
However, we think it's time to revive this idea and bring the Wikisource
Project conference to life. We are keen to bring together like-minded
individuals who are passionate about Wikisource resources and interested in
shaping the future of the project. We envision this conference as a
comprehensive platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovation.
To make this ambitious undertaking a reality, we need a dedicated core
organizing team that will lead the planning and execution of the
conference. I am reaching out to you today to invite you to volunteer for
this important mission. We value your unique insights, experiences and
expertise, and believe that your participation will contribute greatly to
the success of this event.
If you are interested in joining the core team, please let me know by
replying to this email.
Thank you for your time and dedication.
Best,
NANöR

Hi all,
For the Wikisourcerers who are attending Wikimania 2023, I have some news
from the COT of the conference. They have planned the following activities
related to Wikisource.
1. *Wikimedians open discussion with Google*
Google Asia Pacific invited Wikimedians to have a dialogue and workshop in
Google, which include Wikisource, Wikivoyage, Wikipedia. Kindly coordinate
with Butch and Sakti on your attendance. A Google form will be shared
closer to the event to register for this discussion.
2. *Wikisource Basic Training on August 16 (Wed)*
One room has been allocated on August 16 from 13:45 to 16:30 local time
for basic training of Wikisource. Target audience are General public
(including Singaporeans) and Wikimedians attending Wikimania curious and
interested to learn Wikisource.
3. *Coaching Clinic at Wikimania plenary hall on August 16 (Wed)*
One room has been allocated on August 16 from 13:45 to 16:30 local time for
a coaching clinic on Wikimedia projects. This can also be used as a venue
for Editathon and Proofread-athon. Target audience are General public
(including Singaporeans) and Wikimedians attending Wikimania curious and
seeking help on using/navigating Wikisource and other Wikimedia projects.
I am sure, apart from these, we can arrange for a Wikisource meetup like
previous Wikimanias where we will sit and discuss Wikisource together.

Bodhisattwa
