No, indeed. Although it's good to have a clear indication of what kind
of timescales people are working to - personally I'll keep off opening
the metaphorical champagne until January!
Of course, it's no surprise that we hit a roadblock eventually - in
fact, I'm surprised everything has gone so smoothly until now.
Hopefully it will be done by the AGM, although that's a little
optimistic. There is no urgency - we can claim gift aid
retrospectively going back a couple of years, I think (there's no way
it should take that long). It just makes it easier to encourage people
to donate, but major fundraising isn't something we need to worry
about until after the AGM. I think, with or without this, we can open
metaphorical champagne at the AGM - getting that far is a great
achievement. (Of course, opening real champagne is even better if
anyone cares to buy some!)
