Dear all
Firstly, I hope everyone is keeping safe and well.
Secondly, with apologies for the delay in this announcement, I'm writing to
let you know that the Wikimedia UK board of trustees appointed *Nick Poole*
as its new Chair at the last board meeting. Many of you will know Nick
already as he has been on the board since July 2015, and I'm delighted he
has stepped into this role given his extensive relevant skills and
experience.
Sadly, this has come about as another long standing trustee, and Chair of
the Board for nearly three years - *Josie Fraser *- has had to stand down
from the board due to other commitments. Again, many of you will know
Josie, and will understand how sorry we are to lose her from the board. I'd
like to take this opportunity to thank Josie for her huge contribution to
the work of the charity since 2015, and wish her all the very best in her
role as Head of Digital Policy at National Lottery Heritage Fund.
There is a blog post about the change here
<https://blog.wikimedia.org.uk/2020/04/nick-poole-chair/>.
With best wishes
Lucy
