This is a great news for my Gujarati wikisource community, whom I am including in this reply. This is the task that we all are doing free of cost so far. Because you have uploaded hundreds (may be thousands) of pages so far as we have created 50+ books on gu.wikisource, all our efforts will be paid now by WMF (in fact should have been paid so far as well). Hello Dhaval and others, I have no affiliation with the WMF and the WMF speaks for itself. I am a member of Wikimedia New York City but cannot speak on behalf of any organization. Of course Dhaval is joking a bit. I do encourage the Gujarati and all Indian Wikimedia communities to apply for more grants, and if anyone does this, feel free to email me or message my bluerasberry meta or English page and I will comment on the proposal. I am not sure of the best way to build community in India but I do wish that contributors in India would do more to reach out to Wikipedians in other countries. Poor Asaf has to manage the entire world and of course there is no way he is able to read everything and respond to everyone. He can answer you as he wishes but I feel that Wikipedians everywhere should try to take their concerns to other volunteers and especially other chapters, and not entirely to the WMF. If Indian projects get the approval of other Wikimedia chapters then I assure you that will make those projects more persuasive to grant reviewing committees, and in general, the more friends anyone has in more community volunteer groups the more luck you will have. Also, if anyone wants to talk to me by phone or Skype feel free to email me and make an appointment. Dear Kartikbhai, That is not the proposal by Gujarati wiki community, it is from CIS. Also, if you notice, in that proposal, there is no payment to the community, who will really be putting pain in digitising/uploading/typing/correcting the content. And on the contrary, CIS staff will be paid a reasonable share from the grant. I have my name mentioned in that proposal, for which I have to had provide declaration on a discussion page of CIS's grant application. I am on my mobile at the moment so can't find the link to it to share. If anyone wants to see my comment, let me know and I will share the link. Yes, of course, the idea on which CIS has built the proposal was from me, but I had only spoken once soon after wikimenia and then came to know about proposal just when it was ready. I have had no more involvement in that proposal apart from initial idea, which was jointly shared by Sushant Savla, a fellow admin on gu.wikisource. Subha, We don't have a dedicated Wikisource community yet and this was initiated as part of tawiki10 celebrations. We are awaiting official written confirmation on the re-release. But, the Tamil develpment board which owns these encyclopedias have given approval of our request already. The plan is to get these encyclopedias on Wikisource. How we can get that done is still under discussion.
