Hello all,
our parnter wants to add the one more special prize for wlm.eu: the
week in the art-hotel Rachmaninoff for two persons (see also:
[[en:Sergei Rachmaninoff]]), http://www.hotelrachmaninov.com/
In November we'll make an exibition of competitive works there, and
they give us a prize for the best photo (week in etc-eco-village in
Finland) also.
Is it interesting for you?

Hello again,
Just as a point of feedback, our software tools are used by both
commercial and non-commercial photographers alike; for the photo
enthusiast, they can help improve the picture quality of their images as
well as to expand the creativity aspects. For the genre that is being
promoted through the Wiki Loves Monuments competition, there will be
instances where unwanted digital noise can affect the image when
shooting at high-speed and in low-light conditions, as one example. Our
Noiseware tool is very efficient at assisting the photographer to remove
noise and artifacts in post-processing that could not be avoided in the
capture stage. Here is a relevant set of examples from our Community
Gallery: http://gallery.imagenomic.com/ViaLucisPhotography
We appreciate the opportunity to participate as a sponsor, if you feel
it meets the charter and helps foster the spirit of your competition.
With best regards,

Hi Nuno,
The rankings tool shows that I've got 2500 pictures, and rudolphous has 2700 pictures, but this should both be 1200 or something lower. Rudolphous for example had 5 days back 1400 uploads, and since then only uploaden 20 pictures. For me counts the same with 1000 pictures 4 days ago and since then like 300 uploads. Something went wrong, maybe with counting last year??
Mvg,
Bas
Hi guys,
i've added a photo counter to the wlm.eu and wlm.nl websites. This
counter shows how many photos have been uploaded to a specific country
(such as the Netherlands) and globally for the .eu site.
To add such a counter yourself you can use the following piece of HTML
and Javascript. Simply replace the name between the quotes behind
'CATEGORY' to the name of the Category on Commons. You might want to
separate the piece of Javascript and HTML to make it load faster. In
that case, put the <div> tag on the place where you want the counter
to appear and the piece of Javascript just before the closing </body>
tag.
Kind regards,

<div id="wlm-counter">Loading statistics...</div>
<script>
(function() {
window._wlmCounterCallback = function(data) {
for (var i in data.query.pages) {
var cat = data.query.pages[i];
}
(document.getElementById('wlm-counter')).innerHTML =
cat.categoryinfo.size;
}
// Change this to the cat on Commons that holds your images...
var CATEGORY = "Category:Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2011",
url = ''.concat(
'http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php?action=query',
'&prop=categoryinfo&titles=',
encodeURIComponent(CATEGORY),
'&format=json&callback=_wlmCounterCallback'
);
// Load stuff
var s = document.createElement('script');
s.src = url;
(document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0]).appendChild(s);
})();

Hello all,
Today several pictures that were uploaded for Wiki Loves Monuments in Belgium which are considered monuments by the Belgian government have been deleted because we do not have a clear description on Commons about the copyright-situation in Belgium on buildings that are younger than 70 years (or architect died less then 70 years ago). If this continues thousands of pictures on Commons can be deleted on some vague text that seems to be based on what people do not understand about the copyright in Belgium.
The Belgian laws on this matter are complicated and we should urgently get a more clear picture of how the actual copyright laws should be conducted.
I think we can get a clear picture if we consult Belgian a lawyer(s) who can handle this subject. I have two questions:
1. Who knows a lawyer or firm who/which can help us with the question how the Belgian law actually is on this matter?
2. If this will cost anything, who can help us with funding to get this answer clear?
Who can help us with this or has ideas about it?
Other ideas are also very welcome!
Greetings - Romaine

I am trying to found how upload photos with Commonist, but I have not
found any discussion about that.
Is it possible or all must be done manually?
Thanks
Ilario
Hi everyone,
Did anyone already make a tool to show all images of a certain monument?
Monument database +
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/wiki/Category:Cultural_herit…
+ maybe some caching should make this pretty straightforward to
implement. Would be nice to have it as part of the monuments api. Other
tools could use this to dynamically show photos of a certain monument.
Maarten
Hello,
we added Russia in
http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments…
I said to multichill in irc that the base is located at subpages of
[[ru:Википедия:Проект:Санкт-Петербург/Википедия любит Петербург]] day
before yesterday.
What else we should do for getting into the base?
