The Wikimedia movement is about freedom of information and not HR
practices, so I don't think our movement needs to take a position one
way or another. Individuals and organizations can and will take
positions, and we should be understanding in differences of opinion
due to cultural norms, accepted corporate practices in countries, etc.
The Wikimedia France board of directors has taken a position, and they
will bear the consequences, good or bad. The board may find that it
hinders productivity, or that the transparency has a positive effect,
but either way, I think we should let Wikimedia France's decision be
Wikimedia France's.
