[Foundation-l] Wikipedia Student Club in UNAM

Dear all:

We're very proud to announce the beggining of the activities of the
Wikipedia Student Club in the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature
(Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, FFyL) of the National Autonomous
University of Mexico, one of the most relevant in Latin America and the
most important in Mexico, *alma mater* of notable authors as Octavio Paz,
Carlos Monsiváis or Fernando del Paso.

For this purpose, the faculty created an internal program [1] which
recognizes writing articles on Wikipedia to pass the social service
requirement (servicio social, in spanish), supported by us to assess the
quality and appropriate wiki standards in Spanish Wikipedia.

This first phase, ending in the month of August, will be on writing
articles about outstanding professors and Emeritus, and thematic articles
relating to academic fields of the Faculty, as well as literature and
Mexican authors.

We will be reporting progress.
