That sounds like you're advocating having a draconian anti-link
policy, then making special exceptions to it for "people we like".
That doesn't seem very fair to me.

I'm just making the situation clear. It turned out that the best alternative with Michael Moore was talking to him. (or with whoever was running his site). I think in all cases we need to be thoughtful about what we do, not apply some cookiecutter policy. Part of being thoughtful is gaging our own sentiment. Sometimes you just have to accept foolishness and get on with things. We are not always consistent. And for good reason.
