More accurately, no third parties can prove or deny one-to-one
communications between any pair of editors or admins.  I can't, you
can't; only an involved party knows.

If an admin is going to make a block based on anything other than pure
vandalism or something else incredibly obvious, I hope they DO talk to
people about it.  As much as possible.  Ironically, in this case, if
Durova had actually discussed this block on either of these mailing
lists, it's possible someone would have dissuaded her from it.
