Seems like a DNS lookup error.  A few weeks ago we had an issue on the
labs DNS resolver which had too many requests sent to it (due to beta
cluster creating a hell lot of DNS queries).

Maybe we could use a local DNS cache / resolver on the instances.  I
know labs ops are willing to replace the labs DNS server.
