7.1 Summary
In this pap er, we addressed the problem of synthesising a feature mo 
del conformant to a set
of dep endencies and also exhibiting an appropriate ontological 
semantics as dened by its hier-
archy and feature groups. This problem is crucial for many pro duct line 
engineering scenarios
involving op erations like reverse engineering, slicing, merging or 
refactoring of feature mo dels. [...]
Our evaluation on hundreds of feature mo dels showed that the ranking 
list and the clusters
can b e exploited to breath ontological knowledge during the synthesis 
of a feature mo del.
