[Mediawiki-l] Using Mediawiki as a more "traditional" encyclopedia?

Hi,

You have such options in your LocalSettings.php:

#$wgEmailConfirmToEdit = true;
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['createaccount'] = false; => account creation is
decided only by request to me ;)
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['edit'] = false; => protect non authenticated users
to edit pages
$wgGroupPermissions['user']['edit'] = true; => but allow logged in users to
edit.
# Disable reading by anonymous users
#$wgGroupPermissions['*']['read'] = false; => protect non authenticated user
to read pages, but causes troubles when you access the wiki just before
loggin in
It's just a few options I'm actually using, you can be much more precise
while configuring rights for your mediawiki:

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings

Just check those configuration settings whose description looks like what
you wan't to do.
