yeah, but we're stuck with PHP 4 something for now (I mis-spoke). Thats the real restriction.

so, are you saying that there is nothing in the MySQL wikidb structure that enumerates the categories? That would be easy for me then, if thats the case. Presumebaly I would just generate the XML file for the importDump to contain the right Category Links. Is that right?

Actually, let me restate the goal. I'm only trying to protect against the honest, clumsy, signed-in user - not a malicious user. The wiki will only be accessible to authenticated domain users.
