[Mediawiki-l] pls help, unable to get ldap authentication (v1.1d) with group restriction to work with mediawiki 1.6.10

Hi,

I've been trying to get ldap authentication and group restriction to work,
without any success.

I've been looking over the documentaion and examples but it's not helping.
trying with or without proxy search currently yields the same error message
(please see attachements)

"Fetched username is not a string (check your hook code...).
userdn is:
User DN is blank "

Please advise
