[Mediawiki-l] Wiki Newbie

Hi Greg,

The problem is, that on the Server run's 3 Databases. And nobody want's to
install a new database. 
I see no Problems. But im new in this company and i must make what they say.


I know that is easyer to install mysql, but they all want mssql or msde. So
i had to do this (unfortunately).

This is are the rason why i ask.

To be honest, it would probably be a better use of your time and energy to
get MySQL or Postgres installed than to try and get MediaWiki running on a
different database system. (Even if that means part of your time is spent
lobbying your company to allow installing them). Both are free to download
and use, and fairly easy to install and get running.

You will need to write a "DatabaseMSSql.php" module that uses the PHP PDO
ODBC database access functions suite to access the database.  This is likely
to be nontrivial, as MSSQL is not very much like any of the existing
implemented database options.
