To be honest, it would probably be a better use of your time and energy
to get MySQL or Postgres installed than to try and get MediaWiki running
on a different database system. (Even if that means part of your time
is spent lobbying your company to allow installing them). Both are free
to download and use, and fairly easy to install and get running.
