There is no way to suppress it on individual pages that I
know of.
You can suppress it on *all* pages in the article namespace
using [[Mediawiki:Monobook.css]], by adding:
.ns-0 .firstHeading { display: none }
If you still need a title, you can add it manually, either
with =single equals signs= (which adds it to the toc) or
with the <h1> tag, which doesn't.
This may be more drastic than what you want.
