[Mediawiki-l] Another Design?

How can I change the design of MediaWiki?
It seems that it has something to do with the css files in /styles/ and the "Skin*.php" files. Which of the .css files are used and how do the Skin*.php files work?

btw.: How do I answer a thread in this mailingslist?
