I fixed a bug in MediaWiki core recently with regards to authentication
extensions updating preferences (like email address). LdapAuthentication,
when writing preferences used a hardcoded set of attributes. Real name was
hardcoded as CN. If someone changed their real name, it would then change
their username.

I've live hacked this issue away in LdapAuthentication, but Fran was one of
the unlucky few who changed their real name during that short window of
time.
