Mathias,

Gmane is not the only Wikimedia list reader on the web. There is also  
one at Gossamer Threads (which I use because I can actually remember  
the website).

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/wiki/

It has Foundation-L, Wikitech, Wikimania, Mediawiki, Mediawiki  
announce and Media Wiki CVS lists.
