It's an interesting topic, [[Merge (revision control)]] is, and generally handled well by tools like [[Darcs]]. At least, merges have rarely been a problem in my experience.

Where possible, conflicts are intelligently merged at the moment, and
we still get plenty of edit conflicts, and that's with everyone
working off the same version.
