[Foundation-l] Notice of the results of the WMF Board of Trustees election

I join in the many congratulations that will undoubtebly be raining
on the winning candidates in the next few days, and would like
to raise one historic fact about this election...

Though it may sting Oscar somebit, this election made wikimedia
foundation history by being the first election where an incumbent
was unseated by a fresh candidate. Remarkably even by a fresh
candidate who was running for trustee for the first time.

This is truly historic, and the positive thing we should take from
this while commiserating with Oscar, is that it *does* matter
who you vote for. You can affect the course of institutional
structure of the foundation by voting.
