Yes, but how many Switzerlands can you squeeze between Vancouver and  
Montreal. Quite a few. It is not just different languages but different  geographies. 
 The point was in reference to the feeling of "local." They  are not "local," 
there are vast geographic and cultural differences, and yet  they make up (or 
will make up) Wikimedia Canada. Why not the same thing for the  US?
