[Foundation-l] MediaWiki i18n "call to arms"

Hoi,
MediaWiki is probably the application that has the most languages. It does
not mean that as we support 250 languages versions of Wikipedia that
MediaWiki supports 250 languages. It also does not mean that the languages
that are supported are completely or comprehensively supported.

Unicode is not an issue for MediaWiki. The whole of MediaWiki supports
Unicode. There are issues with Unicode like for the Koelsch/Ripuarian
language where glyphs are missing in the Latin scipt.

When a language shows 0% but when it looks like there is a lot of
localisation done in that project, it means that someone has to import the
translated messages into MediaWiki.

Your suggestion to have scripts get messages and import them into MediaWiki
is a little more complicated than that. There are helpful scripts written by
Nikerabbit. The initial message was that Brion had to accept these. Now
another developer may, according to Brion, accept this software and make it
available for use in Incubator.
