Hello friends,
We had hoped to have Bishakha Datta, Trustee over for the Campus Ambassador
program/ Pune meetup on 04 June 2011. Previous commitments have forced her
to regret our invitation. She has wished the community well.
We have also been informed by Arjuna Rao Chawala that due to previous
commitments, it would not be possible for any board member to attend the
pilot campus ambassador training. However, they have passed on their wishes
for a successful conduct of program.
Warm regards,
Ashwin Baindur

*"My answer would be to grow from good to Excellent Community"*
To Mayur I say, make a community first, with so much discord and rancour
there doesn't quite appear to be one in Delhi...
When all of you work hard together and achieve worthwhile goals through
comradeship and cooperation - thats when you become a good community
When every one else tells you that your community is an asset to the nation,
thats when you reach excellence
Kindly notice - Chapter, whether one or two, plays no roll in this...
But whats the point, you seem impervious to sensible discourse?
Warm regards,
Ashwin Baindur

The name "WikiConference India" was selected by the community through simple
majority. The discussion began on this page (url:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:WikiConference_India_2011) and has now
been archived here (url :

).
For the record, the votes were as follows -
* WikiMela (& variants) - 8 support, 1 oppose
* WikiConference India - 14 support, 2 oppose
* WikiUtsav - 2 support
* WikiMania India - 2 support, 5 oppose
* WikiBharati - 1 support
Those who feel that WikiMela would be more evocative, creative and
brandworthy may consider Harriet's suggestion to :
"within India use locally understood names appropriately to brand events
like Utsav for the After Conference Party..or Mela for Wiki community
meets."

Hello friends,
The India report for the July issue of the GLAM Newsletter is a red link at
the moment. Could editors please let me know what GLAM events took place in
their city or on their Wikipedia?
For example, we had the British V&A WikiLounge for Tipu's Tiger. Antything
else?
Warm regards,
Ashwin Baindur
