Hi all,
We had two events in San Francisco this weekend: the West Coast WikiConference (http://2011.westcoastwikicon.org) which was organized by the local meetup group here, and an evening party, which was hosted by the Foundation. Both were quite successful!
Around 100 people attended the conference throughout the day, which featured two keynote speakers: Ward Cunningham and Kevin Kelly (co-founder of Wired magazine). We also had up to 80 people watching a live stream of the conference. The rest of the day featured breakout open space sessions, where participants chose the topic of discussion. Notes from many of these conversations can be found on our wiki, above. Some highlights of the day were a discussion about video on Wikipedia and about HTML5 implementation. While most of our attendees were from California and the local area we did have people from all over the west coast, the rest of the U.S., and even a couple of international attendees.
In the evening, we all went over to a local arts space in San Francisco, where we had food, a cash bar, and a great DJ for a club-like atmosphere. We had a raffle for prizes, watched the Jimmy Wales video, and I gave a (very) short speech welcoming and thanking everyone. Then we cut our massive cake :) We had many invited guests as well as conference attendees, and the space was decorated with some beautifully designed signs and posters featuring all the Wikipedia 10 logos.
There's a pic of our cake & the conference group here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_10_San_Francisco
Thanks to everyone who helped out with organizing and participating in these events. It was a great time.
