All,
Since not everyone can attend WCWC11 [1] or a Wikipedia X party, we're
trying to webcast [2] the event(s). Until about 4 PM PST (UTC-08), the
stream should be at WCWC11 in San Francisco. Later on in the evenings
(after 6PM PST), the stream should be from the San Francisco Party [3].
I make not promises about the streams being interesting or even working.
Feel free to email me comments off list though.
Thanks
-Jon

Oh boy - I just heard that on Friday Jan 14th, radio station KGNU
(88.5 FM Boulder, 1390 AM Denver, 93.7 FM Nederland) will interview a
few of us about Wikipedia!. It will be live, for about 5 minutes, on
the "Morning Magazine", which airs between 8:00 and 8:30 (15:00
UTC). It is also streamed live on the KGNU web site, and should be
available for download or streaming later.

I couldn't find a page for linking to media coverage of the event. Am
I missing anything?

Hello,
Just to let you a little bit about what happens in Sweden:
It has been a media frenzy, with us in Wikimedia Sverige and regular Wikipedians being interviewed in most major news outlets, including TV and the big newspapers. There have been some blog actvity, and there is a steady flow of Tweets.
Most of the stories and posts have been of generally higher quality than is usual, with the biggest newspaper, Dagens nyheter being among the best.
A little bit surprising to us is that the reporter Adam Svanell who wrote a story this autumn where he tested adding silly things to his Wikipedia article would get noticed (which is wasn't, since he's barely notable), and appeared quite critical towards Wikipedia, despite stating that he liked it - well, he has been seen everywhere during the anniversary media coverage. Apparently he's the go-to guy among journalists for the inside scoop about how bad Wikipedia is. The second twist in the story is that he has actually tried to say nice things about us, but the other journalists keep coming back to him with questions that focus on his article, which he admits is very un-scientific.
Some of the blog posts about our panel debate and party on the 13th have been a little critical, as well. Mostly they have complained that 1) we are very bad at organising events (which is why we paid a PR firm to do it for us - and also is somewhat positivt, since it means that we focus on other things), 2) the participants in the panel debate being badly selected, and 3) the debate itself being a little bit off-topic instead of concentrating on some of the hard questions about Wikipedia. I have blogged about it: http://wikimediasverige.wordpress.com (in Swedish).
We have a film of the panel debate, which we hopefully will upload today.
And in about four hours I will have to get up, so I'll get to bed now.
Have a good Wikipedia-day, everyone!
Best wishes,

Hey,
Just quick update (we will send soon full update about the events that we
arranged in Israel) but this morning we had about 400 people on "Lev" cinema
in Tel aviv, Israel. I think it was a great event, the people love that, the
press love that.
some photos from the event:

Video will come i hope during the next week...
Thanks to the foundation for the help.
Happy anniversary / Mazal Tov!
Itzik
Hi everyone,
So tomorrow is the actual anniversary, but there are already photos rolling in on Commons of the events, which you can see at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_10_events
Israel definitely wins the prize for most comprehensive coverage so far with 97 photos. Go Itzik and Wikimedia Israel! Stockholm is the runner up, with 46 photos. There are also some very nice shots from Poland, Amsterdam, Indore and Jaipur. Even just one good photo does the job in my opinion.
Thank you to everyone who has uploaded so far. I cannot understate how excited it makes everyone at the Foundation to see these. I will be adding some of them to the photo gallery on tenwiki (http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photo_gallery) and I'm going to highlight the gallery on the main page.
I also know there are some photos of events (like the awesome kite flying in Bangladesh) that are on Facebook but not on Commons yet. If there's any way we can share those outside Facebook, that would be great. If not, just be sure to post them to the "10 years of Wikipedia" event page.
Let me know if you need any help getting things on Commons. I am happy to upload anything if you want to send me the files. Of course, there's also the guide created by Jay at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organize/Record_our_history
Thank you, and happy anniversary!

Hello,
please help. User whom I mentioned before who is organizing the alleged
Wikimeeting in Rijeka continues to refuse to publish anything about this
meeting.
Now on IRC he says that there he will meet with his friends who are not
Wikipedia users.
How can be something called Wikimeeting if it is hidden from Wikipedia
users, and if on this meeting there will be one new user and others who are
not really part of the community?
