Hi, all.
Looks like the hashtag discussion has resulted in most folks leaning towards
WP10. If you want to discuss this further, please feel free. We'll set a
deadline for tomorrow at 6PM (PT). If you'd like to invite other lists to
join the discussion, please feel free.

Hi, everyone.
As Steven said, we (organizers) will recieve some machandises from Wikimedia Foundation.
So does this mean our events was supprted by WMF
and we (can|are recommended to) show "Supported: Wikimedia Foundation" on announcement etc.?
We (Wikimedians in Kansai, organizing [[Kyoto]]) will do if possible.

Hi everyone,
So with little more than a month to go before Wikipedia's anniversary,
I'm pleased to say that the kits of special Wikipedia 10 merchandise
we've talked about previously (on this list and at ten.wikipedia.org)
are ready to be shipped. To reiterate:
* This merchandise is free. The WMF is paying all shipping and
production costs.
* It's available to anyone that has confirmed publicly that they're
holding an event that will celebrate Wikipedia's 10th anniversary. You
don't have to be holding a particular size or type of event (we have
conferences, film screenings, parties, plain old meet-ups etc.).
* Everyone is getting the same kit.
* Each box includes 50 t-shirts with a balance of sizes for men and
women, as well as a mixed assortment of stickers and buttons. You can
see mockups of the designs at Design/Merchandise on tenwiki. I'm going
to get pictures of it all on Commons soon, under Category:Wikipedia 10.
This means that if you're organizing one of the more than 60 events
currently in the works, I need two things to be able to ship to you:
1. A public listing for your event on tenwiki. Just to be clear, this is
merely a description and links to wherever you're organizing. If your
wiki page exists but doesn't tell people the basics of who/what/when
then please enrich it a little, so that logistically we can feel
comfortable shipping a couple hundred dollars worth of merchandise to
you. The New York City and Brasília events are good examples of the
level of detail I'm talking about.
2. Contact information and your shipping address, plus an estimate of
the size of your event so that we know how many boxes to send you. You
can email this to me privately.
The shipping takes roughly a week depending on location (of course), so
the sooner you can send me your event information the better. We're
hoping to get as many kits as possible sent before January 1.
For those of you who've already done all of the above, thank you. I will
contact you this week before we ship anything to you.

As I updated on the ten.wikipedia, Wikimedia Israel will host a gratitude
event for Wikipedia contributors on Jan 14th:
http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv
We have 450 tickets to give to the event.
Event agenda:
- 10:30-11:30: Reception. Light refreshments, editors and volunteers
meet-up, and many surprises!
- 11:30-14:00: Opening Remarks, and pre-premiere screening of the film
"King's speech".
Lev Cinema Tel aviv will sponsor the movie, and we (thanks to the help from
foundation) will pay for the others stuff (food, drinks, posters and act).
We opened the registration yesterday:
http://www.wikimedia.org.il/wikipedia10
150 dual tickets will be given to Wikimedia movement editors who edit at
least 5 times every month for last 3 months.
Other personal tickets will be given to users who will register on the
raffle and to journalists and blogger.
Just a short update...
Itzik.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to make a quick announcement: the deadline to receive a shipment of merchandise (ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design/Merchandise) from the Foundation is rapidly approaching. For the couple dozen event organizers who have sent me their shipping and contact information, thank you.
For those who haven't, if we don't ship at least 10 business days before the 15th, then it may not get to you in time for the anniversary, so let's make it happen so you can have awesome merchandise for your parties, conferences, and other meetups.
Feel free to forward this message as necessary.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know that as a baby step towards ramping
up promotion of the events in the coming days, there is now a watchlist
notice (i.e. for logged in users only) on English Wikipedia.[1]
English Wikipedians also are using MediaWiki:Geonotice.js to do
geo-targeted watchlist notices for events in Washington D.C., Miami, and
New York City.[2]
I would strongly encourage anyone interested to do the same for their
events. I'll be sending a list update about how we can plan for using
CentralNotice (i.e. banners for all visitors to Wikimedia projects) in
collaboration with the fundraising team here at the Foundation. But in
the meantime, watchlist notices require almost no work, just a basic
consensus on the talk page of those MediaWiki message pages.

All:
There was a discussion on Internal about what hashtag we might use for
W10 social media communications and we'd like to make sure others have
the opportunity to participate in that conversation. If you have
ideas, please contribute to the talk page here:
