Wiki emails work now, but you'll need to manually confirm your email address first (Special:Preferences, near the bottom there will be an option for sending yourself a confirmation email).

I tested with a new user, this is clearly broken. (the login extension does not set the email address correctly, but it disallows manually setting it). Will see what can be done.
