On it.wiki there's the habit of prepending many articles with a "lead section quotation", usually an epigraph of the apology/manifesto sort on the topic of the article. Are you aware of other encyclopedias or Wikipedias with this interesting habit? I saw en.wiki doesn't know such a thing and I've been unable to find comparisons.
