Following criteria were followed while making the selection:
1. On Wiki and Off Wiki participation and contribution. 2. Not more than two participants from a language community. 3. Application form 4. First time participants were given preference over Wikimedians who have already participated.
Due to the incredibly large number of applications that we received it would be difficult for us to write to all applicants individually.
