It is not fair to other members, who, after a logo is picked, go, "zOMG! Where was this discussion? How come I was never informed of this?"
We do have a mailing list for a reason, and it is a valid medium for communication, discussion, and decision-making. For that matter, more unique members have participated in this mailing list then have posted on the website yet. I'm sure that's a situation that's going to change eventually.
Having a discussion in either place is fine, and I would recommend that most new discussions get cross-posted to both places. There are, after all, some members who have better things to do then check their watch list on our website every day, but if an email shows up in their inbox they aren't going to ignore it. --~~~~
