Hi! FYI I don't have a ton of room in the car between the water & our
stuff, so yes, Jon, you may need to take the big items :)
See you this afternoon -- text me if you need me!

Hi all,
What time do we want to aim to be at the maker fair grounds for setup
on friday? we should probably all be there at roughly the same time...
I'll be coming to the office 11ish, having lunch with some
non-wikimedian friends, and then loading up after that. So, whenever
works!

Hi all,
What supplies do we need? I can pick stuff up. I am also going to
swing by the office on Friday so can take stuff from the office.
best,
Phoebe
Hello all,
Maker Faire is soon! It will be on May 19 & 20 at the San Mateo event
center.
If you are interested in volunteering at the Wikimedia booth, please send
me an email before May 10, 2012 so I can get a total number of volunteers.
We have a limited number of coupon codes for volunteer tickets, so let me
know if you would like a ticket.
In previous years, we have put a Wikipedia-related visualization (such as
WikipediaVision) on a large screen. Does anyone have any suggestions for
this year? Feel free to share any ideas on our meetup page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/San_Francisco/Maker_Faire_2012
More information on Maker Faire can be found here: http://makerfaire.com/
Cheers,
Stephen
I am not planning to do this, but if anyone else is interested in setting
up early on Thursday for Education Day, please let me know.

Hi Makers,
Maker Faire is just around the corner, and we hope all is going well!
You are receiving this email because you indicated you would like more
information about Education Day, Maker Faire's annual preview open house
for school kids from across the Bay Area. We expect over 1800 students this
year. Education Day is a fantastic opportunity for Makers to interact with
hundreds of kids and inspire them to become Makers in disciplines they may
never have imagined.
*INFORMATION ABOUT EDUCATION DAY:*
*Education Day - NEW in 2012: Moved to Thursday*
Thursday, May 17th
11am - 2pm
*Setup Details: morning of Thursday, May 17th*
8:00 am - Check-in opens early for Ed Day Makers
10:45 am - You must be set up and ready
*Location*
Many Makers will be able to exhibit in their weekend location. However,
since Education Day happens during setup while heavy machinery is on-site,
students will have limited access to the fairgrounds with some areas
strictly off-limits. If your weekend exhibit is not placed in an
appropriate area, we ask that participating Makers set up their exhibits in
a different, safer area for Thursday. (Partial setups are fine.) After the
event Thursday, you will able to move your items to your weekend location
and leave them there. In the RSVP form, you may indicate your interest
based on having to move or not.
*Program*
Your exhibit will be one of many "stations" students will stop by during
Education Day. Adult docents will lead groups to your exhibits, and each
group will have at least 1-2 additional adult chaperones. If possible,
please think about offering an interactive activity that students can do as
they visit. We want them to make during their Maker Faire experience!
*IMPORTANT: Confirm Your Participation*
Please RSVP using *THIS
FORM<http://makezine.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6445a17f0f4864bcc9492655b…>
* to let us know whether or not you would like to participate prior to
our *deadline
of Monday, May 7th. **Your answer will not affect your ability to
participate in Maker Faire during the weekend.*
Thanks again for all you do for Maker Faire and inspiring the next
generation of Makers!

Hi all! Glad to hear we got a 20x10 (yikes!) booth. And I hope we end up
making a free culture row of awesomeness.
is there a wikipage yet where we can brainstorm what to put in the booth??
Or shall we do it here?
I think interactive is the way to go but as usual I struggle with what to
do that's easy and fun. I'm pretty sure we need to have a copy of this,
though:

in advance.... I'm pleased to announce we have a new mailing list dedicated
